The Criminal Investigation Division is charged with investigating various crimes from white collar crime to more serious criminal offenses that occur within our corporate limits. When criminal offenses occur that requires extensive investigation, a patrolman will complete the preliminary report and forward the case to C.I.D. for further investigating.
Some examples of crime that C.I.D investigates may include:
Crimes Against Persons - crimes such as burglary, robbery, assault, missing persons, and some domestic violence matters.
Juvenile and Sex Crimes - child abuse, child neglect, and sexual assault cases.
Economic Crimes - crimes include forgery, fraud, identity theft, and the embezzlement of property. A majority of the cases require extensive follow-up investigation and a good working relationship with local banks and other financial institutions.
